Here’s a good question from superman with an even better answer, enjoy:
I am stuck on this problem for so long so I decided to seek help. Ok so heres the sentence.Paul Samuelson won the Nobel Prize in Economics for developing the theories of static and dynamic economics; second for generally improving economic analysis.I don’t get how there can a be non independent sentence after a semi colon. A clear explanation would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
Answer: a semicolon is almost like a period. you cant say : “Second for generally improving economic analysis.” because it doesnt sound like a full sentence..
